Malachite Crochet Earrings

Malachite Crochet Earrings

Crocheted in a light to medium green variegated cotton thread, these granny square earrings hang from sterling silver earwires.  They are adorned each with a single dangle featuring a large (12 mm) bead made of the semi-precious stone, malachite.  This banded dark green bead is accented by 6mm sterling silver round beads.

Malachite is a medium soft stone (4/10 on the Mohs Scale) with a chemical formulation of Cu2CO3(OH)2.  It is found as a secondary mineral in copper deposits.

Historically, it was found in the Sinai Peninsula in 4000 B.C. where it was used for jewelry and decorative objects.  One source of Malachite was the Ural mines in early 19th century Russia. It was used ornamentally in the Imperial palaces in Leningrad.

Wear this stone to increase your vitality, to protect yourself from negative energy, and to enhance your sense of confidence.  Wear malachite during your rituals to magnify your intentions.
