Eyeglass Chain with Double Spirals

Eyeglass Chain with Double Spirals

This is a one-of-a-kind 35” eyeglass chain in black, red, and silver. The metal focal beads feature a double spiral. This motif is found on the stones of the sacred Neolithic site Newgrange in Ireland which is older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids. The double spiral represents balance and the Equinox.  This motif is also found at the Al Tarxien temple in Malta dating to 3150 bce.

The beads are strung on a nylon coated 49 strand wire.  Before the ends of the wire are looped through the grips, they are threaded onto a protective metal coil know as bullion and French wire.  The crimp beads are covered with a special bead to create a finished, sleek appearance.
